Day 1: Delhi to Dharamshala

Distance: 472 km | Time: 9 to 10 | Altitude: 206m to 1500m

You will start your journey from Delhi, the capital city of India, travelling overnight in a Volvo bus or cab towards Dharamshala. After an overnight trip, you will wake up to the stunning view of the Dhauladhar ranges in Dharamshala.

Day 2: Reaching Dharamshala

Arrival Time: 8:00 am | Check-In time: 11:00 am

You will reach Dharamshala in the morning and check in to the hotel. In the afternoon, a cab will drive you to Mall Road, the Dalai Lama Temple, St. John Church, Bhagsu waterfall, Naddi Hills, the Tibetan market, and Dal Lake.

Day 3: Trek to Triund

Dist: 7  km (Trek) | Time: 3 to 5 hrs | Altitude: 1500m to 2828m

Get ready for the Triund Trek. You will drive towards Dharamkot or Bhagsu, where your Trek Leader will give instructions. Then, you will start trekking towards Triund. At night, you will stay in the Triund Lodge or go camping.

Day 4: Descend from the Trek

Dist: 7  km (Trek) | Time: 2 to 3 hrs | Altitude: 2828m to 1500m 

After enjoying breakfast with hot tea, you will descend from Triund to Dharamkot or Bhagsu. You will then spend the night at a hotel in Dharamshala.

Day 5: Dharamshala to Bir Billing

Dist: 65 km | Time: 2 to 3 hrs | Altitude: 1500 m to 1525 m

Today, you will check out of the hotel and start driving towards Bir Billing. On the way, you will visit Tea Gardens, Shaheed Samarak, and the Cricket Stadium. In the afternoon, the cab will drop you off at your hotel in Bir. After that, you can explore Bir's local cafes.

Day 6: Checkout and Depart to Delhi

Paragliding Timings: 7:00 am to 6:00 pm

Today, after checking out of the hotel, you can explore cafes in Bir or book a Paragliding Activity (excluded). The activity starts early at 7:00 am and till sunset. Later in the evening, you will depart for Delhi.

  • Private Car: Driving from cities like Delhi (approximately 480 km, 9-10 hours), Chandigarh (approximately 250 km, 5-6 hours), or Amritsar (approximately 200 km, 4-5 hours) offers a scenic journey through the hills.
  • Bus: Several state and private bus operators offer services from Delhi, Chandigarh, and other nearby cities to Dharamshala. Options include luxury, semi-luxury, and regular buses.

By Train: The nearest railway stations to Dharamshala are Amb Andaura and Pathankot Railway Station, about 90 km from Dharamshala. Both the railway station and then take a taxi or bus to Dharamshala.

By Air: Gaggal Airport (DHM), located approximately 13 km from the town centre, serves Dharamshala and provides frequent flights to major cities such as Delhi, Shimla and Chandigarh. From there, you can easily reach Dharamshala by taxi or local transport.
